New Fish Habitats

After several attempts in earlier years to install fish structure habitat, President Jim Walker and member Pat Minogue were finally successful in aquiring the necessary permits!
Association members gathered on August 11th, 2006 to build and place a total of 10 fish structures into Silver Lake waters. Assisting in the building and placement was Ed Braun, D.N.R. Fish Biologist. More structures are being planned for future installation as well. Under the permit issued by the I.D.N.R., we will have a period of 2 years to complete the project.
What was amazing to me, was to view the structures as they sank on the fish locator. Before they were actually settled on the bottom, various sizes of fish were seen being (attracted) to them!
Just one more valuable lake improvement project made possible through active members of the Silver Lake Conservation Association!
