Welcome

One of the best-kept secrets of Silver Lake, Indiana, is that there really is a Silver Lake. Hidden from the main roads, Silver Lake is actually a system of three lakes, connected by short streams:

  • Silver Lake - the main lake
  • North Little Lake - a small lake to the North
  • South Little Lake - an even smaller lake to the south.

The Silver Lake system is a thriving habitat for various species of fish and birds, as well as a number of other creatures native to Northern Indiana.

Next Meetings:

Key Topics: Guest Speaker
The Silver Lake Conservation Association’s final meeting of the year will take place at 9:30am, Saturday, October 16th 2010. Doors open early for socializing and general conversation.

Our guest speaker will be Anna Burke, from Grace College. She will be talking to us about the status of the Eel River Lake and Stream Watershed Project. The Project recently conducted a survey/sample of Silver Lake. We may be able to hear some preliminary results.

In addition to our speaker, we hope to discuss plans for reinvigorating our membership. There are many great reasons for joining our club, and we need to make sure everyone knows them!
